Paul John 2020 Christmas Edition. Image courtesy John Distilleries. This year’s Christmas edition is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, and Virgin Oak casks. The nose is well-balanced with a touch of peat smoke along with figs, dates, subtle spices, and hints of orange peel and ginger. The taste is fruity and tart with touches of lemon pepper, grilled pineapple, and a hint of mango. Clove and allspice notes underneath add complexity with touches of ginger and figs. The finish has a long-lasting tartness with a hint of ginger. Very nice! (December, 2020)
