Parker’s Heritage Collection 2018
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 55%
Score: 90 Points
The 12th release in this annual series is a 7-year-old Bourbon finished in Orange Curaçao liqueur barrels from Alain Royer, who provided the Cognac barrels used to finish the 10-year-old Bourbon in the 2011 edition. This is also the strongest release in the series yet at 55% ABV (110 Proof).
The nose has notes of orange marmalade and toasted bread, along with red grapes, soft spices, brown sugar, and caramel candy. The taste is spicy with black pepper and cilantro balanced nicely by orange marmalade, vanilla, brown sugar, and caramel. The finish is long and smooth with a touch of orange peel. (August, 2018)
