Old Pulteney 21

Country: Scotland

Region: Highlands

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 46%

Score: 93 Points

This expression uses a mix of 1/3 Fino sherry casks and 2/3 refill bourbon barrels, and it’s a complex whisky with a vibrant nose of toffee, baked apples, butterscotch, and a hint of smoke balancing banana and honey notes. The taste is mouth-puckering, tart and dry with apples, lemon peel, and coconut notes. The finish is dry, lingering, and slightly spicy with baked apples, a hint of cinnamon, and coconut cream pie. Excellent!
