Old Grand-Dad Bonded
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 50%
Score: 90 Points
This is a new look for one of Bourbon’s legendary brands, but the whiskey inside remains the same. Four years old, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), and distilled in a single distilling season at one distillery.
The nose has a great aroma with notes of toasted rye bread, clove, honey, brown sugar, cocoa beans, and vanilla. The taste is spicy with clove, black pepper, honey, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The finish is long and spicy with lingering pepper and a touch of caramel cola. (February, 2015)
