Old Forester 2019 Birthday Bourbon
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 52.5%
Score: 93 Points
What were you doing on May 15, 2008? That’s the day the Old Forester distillers in Louisville filled the barrels that became the 2019 Birthday Bourbon. This 11-year-old whiskey has a nose full of tobacco, leather, hints of clove and black pepper, and touches of honey and vanilla in the background. The taste is peppery with a slight citrusy tartness and notes of black pepper, clove, and chili powder that balance nicely with honey, vanilla, lemon zest, and hints of pipe tobacco and toasted oak. The finish is long, slightly astringent, and subtle. Excellent! (August, 2019)
