Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond Spring 2018 Edition. Image courtesy Heaven Hill Distillery. This is the first in what will become a twice-yearly release of Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond Bourbon from Heaven Hill, with annual spring and fall releases planned. The whiskey in this edition was distilled during the spring season of 2006, and bottled in the spring of 2018 just short of 12 years old.

The nose has notes of caramel corn, charred oak, dark chocolate, honey, and a hint of molasses cookies. The taste is creamy and smooth with a burst of ground peppercorns that builds up slowly to a nice peak, while caramel, honey, vanilla, and a touch of oak provide a nice counterbalance. The finish is very long with spices that fade away gently with a nice caramel and fudge sweetness. Excellent! (May, 2018)
