Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon. Image courtesy Edrington Americas. This Bourbon comes from Edrington Americas, and is made with sourced MGP Bourbon from Indiana that is then finished with “Sherry Oak” staves using a “proprietary compression oak” finishing process. The nose has notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla, honey, and a hint of dried fruits. The taste is spicy and minty with a strong wintergreen flavor, along with white pepper, allspice, and hints of caramel and vanilla. The finish is long, crisp, and minty. It doesn’t taste like a traditional Bourbon, and that may not go over well with traditionalists – but it’s a whiskey that’s easy to drink. (February, 2019)
