Milam & Greene Triple Cask Straight Bourbon. Image courtesy Provision Spirits. This is one of the first releases for Milam & Greene out of the Ben Milam Distillery in Blanco, Texas. Heather Greene blended the distillery’s own 2-year-old Bourbon with 3 to 4-year old and 1o to 11-year-old Bourbons made in Tennessee to create a complex whiskey. The nose has notes of toasted caramel, brown sugar, campfire wood, honey, dark chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. The taste starts out with caramel and honey sweetness followed by a burst of black pepper and chili powder spices, while honey, vanilla, and cocoa powder add complexity and balance in the background. The finish is long and spicy with a subtle hint of sweetness. (September, 2019)
