MacNair's Lum Reek 12 Years Old. Image courtesy The Glenallachie Distillery Company. This blended malt combines peated Islay malts with some of Glenallachie’s own unpeated malt whisky, and comes from a combination of first-fill ex-Bourbon, Pedro Ximenez, and red wine casks. The nose has notes of campfire smoke, honey, caramel, and a hint of dried fruits. The taste is smoky and dark with touches of pipe tobacco, black cherries, honey, and caramel. The finish has a long, gentle smokiness with touches of pipe tobacco and honey. (January, 2019)
