Svensk Ek means “Swedish Oak”, and this single malt uses a combination of Swedish Oak and ex-Bourbon casks. The nose has good fruity notes with pears, apples, and hints of mango along with toffee and oak in good balance. The taste is spicy and aromatic with black pepper, ginger root, sandalwood, honey, caramel, fudge, oak, and juniper notes. The finish has a soft oakiness and gentle spices with a hint of citrus and fades away smoothly. (October, 2015)
