Mackmyra Jaktlycka Swedish single malt whisky. Image courtesy Mackmyra. Mackmyra’s annual autumn release gets its name from the Swedish berry wine casks used to finish it after originally maturing in a combination of Swedish and American Oak. The nose is fruity and vibrant with berry cobbler, a hint of citrus, muted spices, and burnt vanilla. The taste has a good balance of berries and spice with a touch of white pepper, hints of plums and toffee, and subtle touches of burnt vanilla and milk chocolate in the background. The finish is long, aromatic, and well-balanced with fruity notes and mild spices. Very nice! (September, 2020)
