Macallan 1824 Collection Estate Reserve
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 45.7%
Score: 96 Points
This travel retail exclusive comes from a mix of sherry and bourbon casks and sherry hogsheads, and it’s dark gold, oily and thick in the glass. The nose is complex and dry, slighly woody, with notes of cocoa and dark chocolate. The taste is creamy and smooth with a pleasant spicy kick and a hint of citrus. The finish is long and spicy. By the way, a small splash of water only makes this one even better!
