Limeburners Port Cask Finish
Country: Australia
Region: Western Australia
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 61%
Score: 89 Points
The Great Southern Distillery in Western Australia is producing some excellent whiskies, and this Limeburners single malt is just one example. It started out in ex-Bourbon casks before being transferred into Australian Port wine casks for finishing, and the nose has notes of plums, raisins, red grapes, muted spices, and a hint of dark chocolate fudge. The taste is thick and chewy with oak tannins, plums, and raisins balanced nicely by touches of clove and allspice. The finish is long with gently fading spices and oak tannins. (March, 2018)
