Region: Pennsylvania

Type: Rye Whiskey

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 55.7%

Score: 92 Points

Liberty Pole in Washington, Pennsylvania is one of the few distillers experimenting with peated Rye whiskies, and the nose on this one has a soft peatiness along with rye spices, honey, vanilla, and a hint of cocoa. The taste has a nice balance of cocoa, peat smoke, baking spices, honey, and vanilla. The finish is long and spicy with a touch of peat. Overall, a nice balance and complexity here. (March, 2025)
