This is a unique collaboration between Beam’s Fred Noe and Suntory Master Blender Shinji Fukuyo. They took Beam’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon and finished it in wine and sherry casks, then Fukuyo blended the two sets of casks together with traditionally matured Beam Bourbon. The resulting whiskey has a nose full of caramel candy, dried flowers, mango, a hint of toffee, and subtle spices. The taste is spicy, but not overpowering, with notes of tropical fruits, honey, vanilla, and caramel adding a nice balance. The finish is long and fruity with lingering spices in the background.
