Laphroaig 15 (2015 Release)
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43%
Score: 92 Points
A mainstay of the Laphroaig range for many years, this single malt was brought back on a limited basis in 2015 as part of the distillery’s 200th anniversary celebration, and many Laphroaig fans wish it would remain a permanent part of the range.
The nose has notes of grapefruit, brine, a soft peatiness, cooked fruits, and is slightly medicinal with smokiness that builds over time in the glass. The taste has a good peaty tang with touches of black pepper, barbecue sauce, brine, and a touch of grapefruit in the background. The finish is long, smooth, and smoky…a classic Laphroaig in every sense! (June, 2015)
