The fourth whisky in the collaboration between Lagavulin and actor/comedian Nick Offerman, like the previous three, is 11 years old. What sets this one apart is the use of Caribbean Rum casks to put a sweet touch on the usually peat-dominated Lagavulin. The nose has touches of peat smoke and molasses, along with honey, heather, and butterscotch. The taste is smoky, tangy, and sweet with a great balance of peat smoke, black pepper, tropical fruits, and a hint of molasses. The finish is long and smoky with lingering spices and tropical fruits. Excellent! (May, 2024)
