Lagavulin 21 2012 Limited Edition
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 52%
Score: 94 Points
This malt was distilled in 1991, and is only the second 21-year-old distillery release of Lagavulin. It was matured in first-fill European oak ex-Sherry casks, and the nose is rich and luscious with figs, plums, red grapes, baked apples, honey, and vanilla. The taste is chewy, thick, and spicy with cinnamon on top of mild peat, brown sugar, honey, and molasses sweetness with touches of figs and raisins. The finish is long and spicy with touches of subtle peat smoke and a nice brown sugar sweetness. Outstanding! (February, 2013)
