Lagavulin 12 2020 Special Release
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 56.4%
Score: 94 Points
Each year, Diageo releases a 12-year-old Lagavulin single malt as part of its annual Special Releases series. The 2020 edition was distilled in 2007 and matured in refill American Oak casks. The nose has a soft peatiness with a touch of campfire ashes, grilled fruits, sea breeze, and smoked salmon. The taste is intense with a mouth-coating thickness and excellent peatiness, along with touches of smoked salmon, grilled fruits, and a hint of heather. The finish is long, long, and long…with a good smokiness and hints of sea salt. Excellent! (October, 2020)
