Lady of the Glen Secret Islay 14 Single Malt. Image courtesy Hannah Whisky Merchants. This whisky comes from an undisclosed Islay distillery, and was matured in an ex-Oloroso Sherry butt. The nose has a light smokiness along with heather, a hint of smoked salmon, butterscotch, and caramel notes. The taste is peppery and pungent with cinnamon and black peppercorns balanced by briny driftwood smoke. The spicy notes fade slowly, leaving behind smoke and hints of heather and butterscotch for a bold, smoky finish. (July, 2017)
