Kilchoman 2007 KWM Single Cask
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 56.6%
Score: 94 Points
This is a rare 10-year-old Kilchoman single cask bottling for the 25th anniversary of the Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, Alberta. The ex-Bourbon barrel gave this single malt a bold smokiness on the nose with gentle phenols that don’t overpower notes of honey, black tea, heather, and a nice maltiness. The taste is luscious – an Islay lover’s dream with good peatiness balanced well by honey, barley sugar, a hint of black tea, soft fruits, and vanilla. The finish is long and gentle, like a campfire fading out at the end of the night. Excellent! (March, 2018)
