Kilbeggan Single Pot Still. Image courtesy Kilbeggan/Beam Suntory. This is one of the few Kilbeggan expressions to be completely distilled and matured at the Kilbeggan Distillery in Ireland (most Kilbeggan spirit comes from Beam Suntory’s Cooley Distillery). There’s no age statement, and the nose has notes of baking spices, honey, ginger, and a hint of dried fruits. The taste has good spicy notes of clove, cinnamon, allspice, and ginger with touches of honey and red apples that add balance. The finish has subtle spicy notes that last for a long time with a good underlying sweetness. (March, 2020)
