Kilbeggan 19 Single Grain. Photo ©2020, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media. This rare 19-year-old Irish single grain whiskey was bottled exclusively as a single cask for Pennsylvania’s state-owned liquor stores, and comes from a mash of 96% corn and 4% malted barley distilled at Cooley. The nose is light and clean with touches of honey, vanilla, and a hint of oak. The taste is creamy with notes of sweet corn, black pepper, allspice, honey, and a hint of butterscotch in the background. The finish is long and sweet with a hint of spice. Very nice! (March, 2020)
