Kentucky Owl Bourbon Batch #7. Image courtesy Stoli Group USA.Batch #7 is the first Kentucky Owl to be available outside of Kentucky, and comes from sourced barrels between 9 and 13 years old. The nose full of caramel, chocolate fudge, brown sugar, charred oak, muted spices, and touches of honey and vanilla. The taste is spicy and aggressive, as chili powder and black pepper dominate the palate with a hint of cinnamon at first. The spices gradually fade to reveal hints of vanilla and honey. The spices linger nicely through the finish, along with the vanilla, honey, and a touch of charred oak. A few drops of water will open up the palate nicely while not drowning the spices.
