Karuizawa Noh #1
Country: Japan
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Number One Drinks Co.
ABV: 59.1%
Score: 93 Points
This is different from the other Noh series bottlings, in that it features casks from 1981, 1982, 1983, and 1942, with three ex-Sherry butts and one ex-Bourbon cask that were bottled in October of 2011. The nose has notes of dried figs and raisins, caramel, molasses, cedar chips, vanilla, and coconut. The taste is full of figs, orange, cinnamon, ginger, pine nuts, and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and spicy with a good balance of ginger, pine, and coconut with a hint of caramel. (January, 2013)
