Jura Turas-Mara
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 42%
Score: 89 Points
Turas-Mara is Gaelic for “long journey”, so perhaps it’s appropriate that this Jura is only found in travel retail shops.
The nose is rich, smooth, and honey-sweet with hints of muted cinnamon, nutmeg, and graham cracker pie crust. The taste has a lemon meringue pie tartness and creaminess, hints of nutmeg and caramel candy. Water adds sweetness and brings out a cinnamon spiciness. The finish lingers with cinnamon, honey, lemon zest, and coconut. Excellent. (November, 2013)
