Jura Seven Wood. Image courtesy Jura/Whyte & Mackay. This Jura expression has a complex recipe, with six different types of virgin French Oak casks used for finishing the whisky after its initial maturation in ex-Bourbon casks. The nose is fruity and aromatic with notes of peaches, orange, peel, oak sawdust, honey, and a hint of pipe tobacco smoke. The taste is buttery-smooth with good fruity notes of peaches, orange peel, a hint of red apples, subtle spices, honey, and a soft oakiness. The finish is long with a hint of pipe tobacco smoke and dried fruits. (June, 2018)
