Jura Elixir
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 40%
Score: 92 Points
Elixir was the name added to the regular Jura 12-year-old single malt in 2013, but the whisky remains the same.
The nose has notes of honey, vanilla, hints of oak, clove, butterscotch, dried flowers, and a whiff of peat. The taste is full of toffee, clove, butterscotch, and smoky peat in good balance with hints of vanilla. The finish is smoky and smooth with clove, toffee, and a good, long fade. (January, 2014)
