Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Triple Grain American Oak
Country: Scotland
Region:
Type: Blended Scotch
Bottler: Diageo
ABV: 41.3%
Score: 90 Points
Long name, much simpler recipe. This experimental 10-year-old Johnnie Walker blend takes three distinct grain whiskies made from corn, wheat, and barley and blends them with Speyside malts from Mortlach and Cardhu.
The nose is rich and complex with honey, vanilla, muted spices, and a hint of peach pie with graham cracker pie crust. The taste has good spicy notes of allspice and clove along with a slight nuttiness, fresh berries, peaches, a hint of green apples, and vanilla cream with a good balance. The finish lingers nicely with subtle spices and touches of peaches and fresh berries. (March, 2017)
