John Walker & Sons Celebratory Blend. Photo ©2020, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media. This 2020 release celebrates the 200th anniversary of John Walker opening his original grocery store in 1820 in Kilmarnock, Scotland, where he blended whiskies and teas for his customers. The nose is sweet and fruity with notes of dried peaches, apricots, honey, and vanilla. The taste is thick and nectar-like with peaches and apricots at first, followed white pepper and allspice with hints of honey and vanilla in the background. The spices dominate on the finish, lasting a long time with touches of dried fruits and honey underneath. Excellent! (December, 2020)
