John Myer Four Grain Whiskey. Image courtesy Myer Farm Distillery. This whiskey from New York’s Myer Farm Distillery is made from a mashbill of corn, wheat, rye, and barley, and the nose is warm and aromatic with notes of rye bread, charred oak, honey, vanilla, and a hint of allspice. The taste is spicy with black pepper, chili powder, and a hint of ginger. The spices fade very slowly to reveal vanilla, honey, and hints of lemon zest and black tea. The finish is long with black tea and lemon notes…and this would make a great Hot Toddy. (July, 2016)
