Jim Beam Small Batch. Image courtesy Jim Beam. Most Jim Beam fans will never get a chance to taste this 5-year-old whiskey, since it’s produced exclusively for sale in Australia and New Zealand and blended with a small amount of Tawny, the Australian fortified wine that’s similar to Port. The nose has notes of red grapes, plums, brown sugar, muted spices, honey, and vanilla. The taste is fruity and spicy with a good balance of red grapes, plums, figs, a touch of allspice, ginger root, and honey. The finish has a lingering sweetness with a hint of spice and a touch of licorice. (October, 2019)
