Jeptha Creed Bloody Butcher's Creed. Image courtesy Jeptha Creed Distillery. This 18-month-old Bourbon is a blend of Jeptha Creed’s rye and wheat-forward mashbills distilled using grain from the Nethery family’s own farm in Kentucky, including their Bloody Butcher heirloom corn. The nose is aromatic with notes of buttered popcorn, pears, apricots, a hint of almonds, caramel, vanilla, and charred oak. The taste is spicy and full of flavor with touches of clove, cinnamon, and coriander along with almond oil, honey, caramel, and vanilla. The finish is long with a good spiciness that fades away slowly. (February, 2019)
