Jack Ryan Bourdega 15 Year Old Irish Single Malt. Image courtesy Jack Ryan Whiskey Company. This Irish single malt comes from the Ryan family, owners of the historic Beggars Bush pub in Dublin’s Ballsbridge neighborhood. It’s matured in ex-Bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks, and comes from an undisclosed Irish distillery.

The nose is dominated by citrus fruits with orange peel, banana, and a hint of grapefruit along with soft spices, vanilla, and hints of raisins and toffee. The taste is smooth and spicy with nice clove and allspice notes balanced by citrusy touches of orange peel and grapefruit, raisins, and a hint of oak tannins. The finish is long, dry, and fruity with a subtle touch of almond oil in the background. Very nice! (July, 2017)
