Photo ©2019, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media. This Irish Whiskey is unusual – not just because it’s a 9-year-old single grain whiskey, but also because it’s finished in a combination of Tequila and Mezcal casks. The nose has notes of dried flowers and fruits, a hint of agave, and touches of caramel candy and oak. The taste is creamy and soft at first with a slow buildup of ginger, allspice, and cinnamon, along with dried flowers, honey, vanilla, and a hint of green apples. The finish is long, gentle, and slightly tart. Nice! (November, 2019)
