Isle of Fionia Ardor Batch #116
Country: Denmark
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 59.8%
Score: 89 Points
This single malt whisky comes from Denmark’s Nyborg Distillery, and was matured in four ex-Tennessee Whiskey casks for between four and seven years before being blended and briefly finished in an ex-Sherry butt. The nose is fruity with notes of peaches, pears, baked apples, a hint of nutmeg, honey, and a touch of oak. The taste is thick and nectar-like with fruity notes of fresh peaches and pears, good spicy notes of clove, black pepper, and nutmeg, and touches of honey and vanilla that bring it all together. The finish is long and slightly dry with lingering spices and a hint of oak. Very nice! (March, 2018)
