House of Hazelwood “The Next Chapter”

House of Hazelwood

Country: Scotland

Region:

Type: Blended Scotch

Bottler: House of Hazelwood

ABV: 45.3%

Score: 95 Points

This 50-year-old blended Scotch from the Gordon family’s House of Hazelwood brand was transferred into a first-fill Bourbon cask after 40 years, and the nose has a toffee sweetness, a hint of citrus, honey, vanilla beans, orange marmalade, and a slight earthiness. The taste is thick and chewy with notes of oak tannins, grilled pineapple, lemon zest, honey, vanilla, coffee beans, and a touch of toffee. The finish is long with touches of citrus, honey, and coffee beans.
