Region: Highlands

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 44.6%

Score: 94 Points

Highland Park Ragnvald. Image courtesy Highland Park. Pronounce this one “Ronald” if you ever try to order it at a bar. It’s from Highland Park’s Warrior Series and uses primarily European Oak casks in the mix. The nose is well-balanced with a slight smokiness and notes of brown sugar, vanilla, rosemary, and dried flowers. The taste is thick and tart with lemon zest and a delayed burst of spices with cinnamon bark, white pepper, and nutmeg balanced by a subtle touch of dark chocolate. The finish is long and slightly smoky with hints of ginger root, lavender, and rosemary. Wow! (May, 2017)
