Highland Park Magnus. Image courtesy Highland Park/Edrington.This Highland Park expression replaced Dark Origins in the North American market in 2017, and the nose is nice and complex with notes of vanilla cream, hints of mango and papaya, charred oak, a kiss of smoke, toffee, and a hint of brown sugar. The taste starts off creamy and smooth with spicy notes of ginger and allspice developing gradually, along with vanilla cream and a subtle smokiness. The finish is long with subtle spices and smoke, grilled fruits, and a very nice overall balance. (September, 2017)
