This complex whisky blends High West’s own rye whiskey with straight Bourbon whiskey and blended malt Scotch Whisky, and the 2023 release is the first one to use High West’s own rye whiskey in the blend. The nose is very complex with a hint of peat smoke, dark chocolate, orange peel, and toffee. The taste is smoky and bold with a hint of peat, charred oak, salted caramel, honey, subtle spices, and dark chocolate. The finish is long and complex with a gentle smokiness and hints of dark chocolate and salted caramel. Excellent! (August, 2023)
