High West Bourye. Image courtesy High West Distillery. This High West 2019 offering blends together two different MGP Bourbon mashbills and their standard 95% rye whiskey (with 5% malted barley), with all of the whiskies at least 10 years old. The nose has good aromas of baking spices along with honeycomb, caramel, vanilla, and cocoa. The taste is peppery with a good balance of honey, caramel, and vanilla in the background. The finish is medium-length with hints of black pepper, honey, and cocoa. (July, 2o19)
