High Coast Atmosfär
Country: Sweden
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 92 Points
It’s rare to see a whisky bottled in nothing but 50ml “airline” bottles, but it makes sense when the whisky will be served exclusively to Business Class passengers on SAS Scandinavian Airlines. Sweden’s High Coast Distillery worked with SAS on Atmosfär, which is a lightly peated single malt matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and new American Oak casks. The nose has touches of coconut cream, vanilla, a hint of peaches, and a subtle smokiness. The taste has a good balance of spices, oak, and honey sweetness with hints of vanilla and caramel candy. The finish is long, rich, and sweet with lingering spices and a touch of oak. Very nice! (March, 2020)
