Heaven Hill 27 Year Old Barrel Proof
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 47.35%
Score: 93 Points
This Bourbon comes from 41 barrels of the remaining stocks of whiskey distilled in 1989 and 1990 at the Old Heaven Hill Springs Distillery in Bardstown, which was destroyed in a 1996 fire. The nose has notes of dried fruits, pipe tobacco, black cherries, and hints of nutmeg, peppercorns, and clove. The taste is thick and chewy with dried flowers, vanilla, black pepper, clove, cocoa beans, caramel candy, and surprisingly – just a subtle touch of oak. The finish is long and sweet with pipe tobacco and a hint of oak. Excellent! (August, 2018)
