The second in a series of Bourbons honoring the Kentucky towns where the James B. Beam Distilling Company has sites, this one honors Kentucky’s capital of Frankfort. As with the others in the series, it’s a 17-year-old Bourbon all distilled from the same batch of mash and bottled at 55% ABV, but was matured in the Beam warehouses in Frankfort to take advantage of the local terroir. The nose is dry and oaky with tannins, dark chocolate, dried fruits, leather, and tobacco. The taste has notes of charred oak, dark fruits, oak tannins, and dark chocolate. The finish is dry and oaky. (August, 2023)
