Gouden Carolus Single Malt Whisky. Image courtesy Het Anker. This Belgian single malt from Het Anker is distilled from the same mash used for the Gouden Carolus Tripel beer, and the nose has notes of oak, vanilla cream, butterscotch, apples, and a hint of peaches. The taste is thick and oily with a hint of oak, along with touches of ginger, white pepper, and vanilla. The finish has lingering spices that fade away slowly along with a hint of vanilla. (May, 2019)
