Gordon & MacPhail Rare Old Lochside 1981
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail
ABV: 46%
Score: 89 Points
Lochside is one of the many distilleries in Scotland lost to the ages, but Gordon & MacPhail bottled this vintage Lochside in 2015. The nose is malty with touches of honey, dried flowers, butterscotch, linseed oil, and a hint of wood smoke. The taste has linseed oil and butterscotch along with touches of clove and allspice complemented by dried flowers and honey for a complex flavor. The finish is long and slightly tart with touches of honey and butterscotch. (January, 2019)
