Gordon & MacPhail Dallas Dhu 1979
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail
ABV: 40%
Score: 92 Points
It’s becoming harder and harder to find bottlings of Dallas Dhu, which closed in 1983. This 1999 bottling from Gordon & MacPhail gives us an idea of what the Speyside distillery was known for, with a dusty, earthy nose of garden soil and hints of dark fruits. The taste is fruity and gentle with touches of brown sugar, allspice, and butterscotch for a simple, smooth flavor. The finish is long, delicate, and smooth with a hint of fruity tartness.
