Gordon & MacPhail 85 Years Old from Glenlivet Distillery
This latest release in Gordon & MacPhail’s Generations range is the oldest single malt Scotch ever bottled (as of this writing). The whisky spent 85 years in a single Sherry transport cask before being bottled, and the nose has touches of tree fruits, honeycomb, figs, apricots, peaches, orange oil, subtle wood spices, and a kiss of smoke. The taste is waxy and vibrant with notes of butterscotch, sultanas, marmalade, plums, and a slight hint of garden herbs. The finish is long and luscious with a hint of baking spices balanced by tree fruits, honey, and a hint of garden herbs. Amazingly complex! (October, 2025)
