Country: Scotland

Region: Speyside

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail

ABV: 49.3%

Score: 95 Points

This 74-year-old single malt from Gordon & MacPhail’s Private Collection range was filled into a refill Sherry butt on New Year’s Day of 1949 and bottled in March of 2023, but the whisky remains vibrant and fruity on the nose with touches of mango, papaya, a hint of grapefruit, toasted oak, honey, vanilla, and hints of leather and cherries. The taste is fruity and floral with good spicy touches of white pepper and allspice, orange peel, mango, papaya, and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and fruity with a kiss of smoke. Outstanding!
