Glenmorangie Astar. Image courtesy Glenmorangie. One of the early releases in Glenmorangie’s Private Edition series, finished in 3/4 size casks and bottled at cask strength, this single malt has a smooth and subtle nose with floral notes, honey, almonds, orange oils, banana, and vanilla. The taste is intensely fruity, dominated by orange, banana, and fresh pineapple along with ginger, coconut, almonds, and honey. The finish is long and fruity with smoothly fading notes of orange oils and banana. Excellent! (January, 2015)
